FIRSTLY, why has it become difficult to find housing available for under market value?
The answer lay in the LNP Government policies of opening the market to overseas buyers; thus the competition for housing in Australia skyrocketed
-the overseas buyers upon real estate purchase gain a Residency Visa
-with some Visas they can buy several “new homes” e.g. a Guardianship Visa
SECONDLY, if this scheme were widened beyond Government-owned land to allow private wealthy landowners – both Australian and foreign – to rent land to low-income earners it will place our people at a further disadvantage in their own country!
-to rent land at 2 per cent of the land value per year is costly
-a guarantee that leases are released in perpetuity must be ensured
LIKE that of the British and European system of long term leasing with the wealthy gaining even more control!
AGAIN this could threaten Australian sovereignty even further with RE Agents set up across Asia selling off our property and land to an even larger market than China alone!
-AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST EXPORT … OUR TITLE DEEDS!
